Today, Mark's dad, stepmom and grandpa came down to visit. It was absolutely frigid outside, but we really wanted to try to see Santa again. When we went yesterday, apparently it was too close to the 3pm closing time and we were turned away. Morgan had changed her mind a week or so ago - we just had to give it a go. So we bundled up and head down to the pavilion in downtown Farmington.

After lunch at Dagwoods and a Peppermint Mocha at Starbucks, we got in Santa's line. Outside the tent we got to see a very big, lazy and cold reindeer. His handler made sure we didn't get too close though for fear of getting whacked with his antlers. Morgan was pretty excited to see Santa from afar but I think she was a little shocked when we were just feet away, and then all of a sudden, she was sitting on this strange man's lap! It took some coaxing and tickling, but she finally smiled and I think they got a couple of great photos.
The pavilion was full of vendors selling wreaths and greenery, centerpieces, even Christmas trees. Everything looked so nice and festive. I wish it was just a smidge warmer - we didn't look around too much because of the cold and the wind.

That night, Morgan realized "I forgot to tell Santa what I want for Christmas!" I suggested we write him a letter, but she thinks we should call him instead.

  1. So happy to see Morgan smiling on Santas lap! =) Maybe she would understand writing a letter if she knows that Santa doesn't get a good cell phone signal with all the flying he does!
