12.04.2010

After a failed attempt to see Santa at downtown Farmington's Holly Days event, we decided to stop at the same tree lot as we went to last year and get our Christmas tree. They had a great selection and it was an easy decision to get another Fraser fir. Boy, does it smell great! I can't imagine not getting a real tree anymore. It's worth sweeping up a few needles and watering it every couple days for the fresh smell of pine.Morgan loved running through the rows and rows of trees and found her own little branch to sweep the straw with. The men at the lot even gave the kids their own coloring books about Christmas trees and were they come from. I asked the men if I could keep our tree's price tag (to add to my album).
We took two separate cars, one for Mark and the tree and one for Morgan, Parker and I. The tree lot is only 2 miles away so getting the tree home was super quick and easy. We dug out the tree stand, boiled some water and Mark brought the 9 foot beast inside. We will decorate the tree with lights later this week. Probably no ornaments again this year. Not because of the kids, but because we want to pick out some that are just right and will last for a long, long time. There just isn't time to do it this year. I'm sure we will be hitting the clearance racks after the holidays!

Tomorrow: attempt #2 for SANTA!
