lazy days of summer

Miss me much?

Just here for a quick bit to share some Sunday afternoon pictures of Morgan on the swings and harrassing the ducks at Shiawassee Park.
Everyone is doing well here. Morgan is a big chatterbox and has caught on quickly to daddy's overuse of the word "no", especially as she's trying to pry the electrical outlet covers off the wall. And, she seems to have grown into 18 month clothes overnight. Ha ha...take that Dr. Worrywart.

Though I haven't been terribly busy, I've been a bit of an anti-blogger.
I'm starting to find interest in it again.

Work has been very not busy so now I'm down to 4 days a week, indefinitely. Don't get me wrong, I love a 3-day weekend as much as the next person, but a 20% pay cut feels more like a punch in the face when we still have to dish out full time daycare for our little girl. 4 days or 5 days, it still costs the same. So, we are making some adjustments. Distinguishing between wants and needs. I suppose it's a good thing that the wants list is longer than the needs. It'll be an opportunity to do some soul-searching and brainstorming about what I could do to make a little extra loot. Something I enjoy. What a concept. I'm open to your suggestions :)

It's also been an opportunity to catch up on things left by the wayside. Housework, yardwork, organizing, even some scrapbooking (gasp!). Before we went to Mexico, Kristin made us a couple of adorable albums to fill with our Cabo pictures and journaling and I finished Morgan's (I need to print more pictures and finish ours). I also whipped up a little tag album for Morgan, a sort of photo-a-day mini, for the month of May, called Almost One. It was kind of funny to think back to when I was first putting it together over a year ago. I was still preggo and Morgan was still Baby Wait and See. Crazy! In October I'm taking an online scrapbooking class. My scrap-girl-crush, Ali Edwards, is teaching a 3-month long class and I've been waiting all year for it. I'm super excited for it to begin.

I've admittedly been a bit of a hermit and it's time to start catching up on visiting some friends and family too. I bet you know who you are! ;) Much love. We'll talk soon.

  1. Yeah!!!! A new entry. The pics of Morgan crack me up. It's like I can almost hear her laughing in the third photo. I already have it for my desktop. Just curious as to whether or not she was trying to "pet" the ducks. Keep up the blogging--I've missed it.
