at 31 months

My little man is nearly 3 and full of personality. Annnnd, I was out-of-the-blue inspired to make an actual scrapbook layout last week. It's been months since I've done that.

This was the result. A little snippet of what Parker is all about right now using Studio Calico's Darling Dear line. The title was cut on the Silhouette with patterned paper from the line :

The veneers were actually a long chevron piece that I cut apart to make arrows and then stitched them on the page.

My journaling was a little long but I wanted to fit as much as I could in that 3x3 square so I typed it out and printed it onto the vellum.

It's pretty simple, but I hope this layout gets me in the groove of making more regular layouts.

Front Row : Project Life Weeks 2 + 3

February's kit, Front Row, is live at Studio Calico!

Week 2 : January 7-13 Here is Week 2 of 2013 with February's Project Life kit only. I captured lots of ordinary everyday moments this week - things that are pretty typical around here right now. Lots of princesses, crafting, sickie bugs, a little happy mail and some weird Michigan weather. 

One of my goals this year is to incorporate more digital elements - stamps, journaling, etc - in my Project Life and I really enjoyed using many of the ones available with this month's kit. I need to remember to do more of that during the photo editing / pre-printing process!

Week 3 : January 14-20 I LOVE all of the yellows and greens in the kits this month. I used a lot of bits from several kits for this spread - the Project Life kit, card kit, add-on 1 (Big Screen) and add-on 3 (Matinee).

Around here : (finally) a calm haircut experience for my son, beach day at preschool for my daughter and a scrappy day with my mom and sister were just a few of the highlights. I loved getting a little bit of modern-day technology in this layout - like a Facebook status update and I also added a QR code on the "Good Times" journaling card that links to a YouTube video that my kids watched over and over again this week. It will be fun to scan it with my iPhone (I use the ScanLife app) in the future and see my kids relive that memory. :)

I will be the first to admit I have a hard time getting myself in my Project Life layouts. I'm too quick to see "the bad" - the messy hair, tired eyes, makeup-less face, etc. but I did it this week anyway. I took an in-the-moment photo with my son while I was giving him a piggy back ride around the house. Though it is an awful photo of me, it totally captures the mood and his smile says it all. I couldn't not include it this week.

It's just about reveal time at Studio Calico. The February kits were so fun to play with and get caught up with Weeks 2 + 3 of 2013. While we're waiting for the next few days to pass, I thought I'd share a few sneaks of the Project Life layouts I made with February's Front Row kits.

Project Life : Week 52

Week 52 : December 24-31

This week : Christmas festivities, Mark was home all week (yay!), our first trip to the sledding hill, I got a new MacBook Pro, a birthday party plus New Years Eve at home.

Last week of the year, using the back of the American Crafts page protector insert in Week 51 and another Design F page protector.  I gotta say, it was a fun change of pace filling all of those 3x4 pockets for this month.

I used another Week in Review card this week and used a lot of my other stamps as well

Thank you so much for looking - at this week and the previous 51! As much work as it can be, I'm going to miss posting my spreads each and every week. I will continue to share here in 2013, but likely a month at a time during Studio Calico's monthly kit reveal. I've really enjoyed using those kits for my weekly layouts and plan to keep myself relatively current again throughout the year.

The February kit reveal is next Monday and I'll have weeks 2 + 3 of 2013 to share in full then. (Week 1 was exclusive content for the Day by Day class.) I will share my sneak peeks in the next couple days.

Project Life : Week 51

Week 51 : December 17-23

This week : Morgan's preschool winter concert, our first dusting of snow on the first day of winter and the beginning of our Christmas celebrations with Mark's family.

At this point, I was totally in "just get it done" mode, so this spread was pretty simple. The base of the week is within a Design F page protector, plus I added an American Crafts page protector as an insert this week, to hold the extra photos related to Christmas.

Love those Cosmo Cricket word stickers below. Here I just added them right on top of the page protector.

More December Daily kit extras - enamel dots, snowflake diecuts, Thickers and Ali's stamps. The Hello stamp below can be found here.

The center row was all focused on Morgan's winter concert.

On the outside edge, I added a file tab and stamped "Merry Christmas" using Ali's stamps in the December Daily kit.

Project Life : Week 50

Getting my December Daily album finished took priority these last couple weeks so I've been also playing catchup on getting my 2012 Project Life albums done too. This week I'll be sharing my final three weeks.

Week 50 : December 10-16

This week : lots of errands, wrapping up gift purchases and 12/12/12. Mark and I went to his work holiday party and Morgan and I joined my mom and sister for our annual Christmas cookie baking day.

I continued my one Design F page protector per week in December as well. I also added a Week in Review card (stamp can be found here) to note the dates and a brief rundown of the week.

Inside the candy cane striped bag is a super sweet email from my mom.

Most of the supplies I used are leftover from the Studio Calico December Daily kit. Below, the wood veneer alpha is from the Darling Dear line. For the Love of  and quotation mark stamps are in my shop.

The Sandy Hook Elementary tragedy was also this week and I couldn't finish up this week without mentioning it. Peace badge from Marcy Penner.

I made a flip up with the single 4x6 photo in this layout and added the freebie that Cathy Zielske made. That Mr. Rogers quote is pretty perfect.

December Daily : Days 20 - 25

Here are the final pages to my December Daily album! I'm so happy I got it finished in a reasonable timeframe - considering that I wasn't able to keep up with the daily part. It is done, nonetheless.

December 21. The first day of winter + a little snow.

That adorable house/heart clip was one of two in the Studio Calico December Kris Kringle kit.

I combined the weekend of the 22nd + 23rd into one spread. We spent the weekend with Mark's family and I honestly didn't take many photos. Before we left though, Charlie (our elf) surprised the kids with videos from Santa (via the Portable North Pole website) Morgan and Parker were thrilled to be on the nice list. ;)

December 24 - Christmas Eve! We spent a really nice day at home. Making cookies and preparing to have our families over on Christmas Day.
