We are home from our long weekend camping trip! We had a wonderful time, both as a family, and hanging out with all of the friends that were with us at Port Crescent State Park. Morgan and Parker loved camping, which is essentially just like playing outside all day long. What's not to love?! The weather was perfect - lots of sunshine, not too hot and very few mosquitoes. Phew! We enjoyed four days full of building sand castles, laughter, staying up really late (Morgan), playing chase in the woods, falling asleep in front of the campfire, eating acorns (Parker), swimming in the big waves in Lake Huron, watching 'chickmunks', eating S'mores and so much more. Before we left yesterday we took a walk around the park to pick out our favorites sites for next year's trip. Mark and I are over-the-moon happy about how successful our weekend was!
I took a ton of photos on my iPhone, which I need to eventually whittle down and upload so I can finish my Scrapbook on the Road. Should be a fun little album documenting our first family (of four) vacation together.
Today : slowly, we are getting back into our groove. Trying to remember this is Tuesday, not Monday. I'm certain I will be off a day all week. Adjusting to not being outside 24/7. Washing the endless piles of dirty, sandy, wet clothes, towels and bedding. Making lists, including groceries so we can fill our refrigerator back up. Morgan and Parker are in desperate need of baths so I'm off to make them a nice warm long bubble bath and clean all the dirt out of their fingernails.
