Christmas was great! We spent Christmas Eve at home and it was a long and tearful night for little Morgan. Her gums were really sore and she didn't sleep well so when she was ready for her early morning bottle, we stayed up and opened gifts. It was Christmas day, after all.
Sunday was one of our infamous lazy days before we hit our to-do list hard and fast on Monday. Last week was filled with car shopping and test driving, unpacking, spending money, laundry and ironing, errands, making deals, watching movies, cleaning and lots of running around. We picked up our new car on Wednesday and took a little road trip to the eastside for shopping at Partridge Creek and dinner at Max+Erma's. Kristin and Troy were having a little New Year's Eve get-together so we stopped by for a bit to visit with them, and Shaun, Val and Derek, before we went home. Mark and I hardly made it to midnight. Ah, how things have changed. :) Happy New Ye...zzz...
Like I said in the last post, Morgan sprouted her first tooth on the 30th. So, her first tooth beat out her first crawling 'steps', but not by much. She's been scooting and rocking and pushing for weeks but yesterday when I got her home from school, she sat on her playmat, got on her hands and knees, and went! She crawled. It was so so cute. She seems much too little to be crawling, but she is! We were pretty excited, and scared. Oh the things she can get into now. This morning before work she decided she didn't like how my scrapbooking supplies were organized and crawled over to do a little rearranging. NO! Not the scrapbooking stuff!
Morgan is making tons of noise and talking a lot. Mostly, ba-ba-ba, bob-bob-bob (who's Bob?), and an occasional da-da and ga-ga. No ma-ma. Bummer :( She is also starting to hold her arms out when she wants to be picked up. Who could deny that request?
Her current likes: climbing over us when we sit on the floor to play with her, standing up, blowing raspberries, pulling her new playmat apart and eating the foam pieces, chucking her sippy cup on the floor when we are eating, snow and dogs!
Dislikes: getting dressed, being put in her carseat, having something she shouldn't have taken away, our slippery wood floor.
OK. Good enough. I think I'm caught up again, for now. We don't have any big plans this weekend. Just lots of playing and enjoying each other's company. Sounds like we are going to get a bunch of snow again...sigh. I think I see a new car seat in our future too. We should probably start shopping for that. Have a great Friday and a nice weekend.
Oh you know we care! =) I can't believe (okay, I can...) that she is crawling...just like that...got up and started huh? How awesome. I can't wait to see her do that. Looks like you'll have to keep her out of your room now and maybe the slippery floors will slow her down a bit! Love the updates! Thanks..
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! Crawling...can't say I'm surprised, but I agree with you, she seems too little. I bet that is so cute. Hang on tho. She'll keep you hopping now that she's on the move. I love all the photos that you've post recently. Talk to you soon. Keep your fingers crossed we don't get "all" the snow they are talking about.
